Assuming you're talking about the age of sexual consent... In the US, the age varies by state. In some states it's 18. In other states it's lower. Parental permission is irrelevant, because a parent cannot give their child or their child's boyfriend/girlfriend permission to break the law.

The European Union calls it the legal age for sexual activities. It should not be confused with the age of majority, age of criminal responsibility, or the marriageable age.

∙ 13y agoThere is not one that applies across the board. The age varies by state from 16 to 18 years of age. In some states there are exceptions for close in age, but while it may prevent being charged with statutory rape, other sexual crimes could still be charged.
