These are the 5 layers of the rainforest:Emergent layerCanopy layerUndercanopy layerShrub layerForest floorHope you find this helpful!
the rainforest consists of four layers. this is called the strata. the strata's layers are the forest floor, understory, canopy and the emergents.the forest floor is the floor of the forest and is home to animals like tigers and many insects. the decomposing of dead leaves and fallen trees happens here from algae and insects.the understory are where smaller trees or bushes grow and this is where lianas grab onto other trees for survival.the canopy is the roof of the rainforesy and is home to many birds! tree frogs and other animals also live here, some dont even move from here their whole lives! this shelter or roof collects most of the wind, rain and sunlight so it is hard for other things below it to get themthe emergents are literally the trees that are the tallest of the tallest. they are higher than all the others of the canopy and it is said that these are the grandparents of the forests.for more information on rainforests try checking out this website belowwww.enchantedlearning.com/subjects/rainforest/Strata.shtmlhope it all helped :)

Highland or tropical rain forest
The canopy is the upper portion of a forest. So a rain forest canopy researcher is a person who does research about the upper portion of a rain forest. Click on the 'related links' below to go to the wikipedia page about canopy research.
The canopy layer (at the top of the forest trees) is light - that is where the sunlight is and the leaves spread out to catch it. However, because the canopy catches nearly all of the light the forest floor below the canopy is gloomy and dark.
The understudy of the rain forest is the second layer of the rainforest's, located above the forest floor but below the canopy
The top layer is the canopy and just below that is the understory and last it is the forest floor.
Shrub layer.
A forest is normally meant to mean a large wooded area. The canopy is the umbrella type covering formed from the dense leaf covering in the tree tops, that casts a dark shadow on the ground below.
The uppermost layer of the forest is called the canopy. It consists of the tallest trees that form a continuous leafy roof over the layers below. The canopy provides shade, shelter, and food for many animals living in the forest.
The undersrush is the forest growth at the lowest point below the canopy of the forest. Basically, it's the area where shrubs, grasses and tree saplings grow.
Plants which grow in shady places are called Shade Tolerant Plants......Like in the Amazon forest..where the plantation is very thick and trees grow tall and enormous. Their leaves act as a canopy or they form a blanket which does not allow sunlight to reach the ground...yet there are plants which grow below this canopy of leaves because they are shade tolerant plants....they dont require much sunlight....Dominic Ferrao ...domyferrao@yahoo.com
Since it is the top layer of the forest, Birds of Prey like eagles, owls, and hawks are most likely to live in the canopy because of the wide view of the forest down below.
The layer it lives in is the Understory, which is above the Forest Floor and below the Canopy. Spider Monkeys are found near the equator, in the wild regions of Central America and northern South America.
The canopy is the section of the rain forest that the Harpy Eagle lives in
