Hi. I wake up very warm - not quite sweating, but warm. I'm a 43-year-old woman not into Menopause. I make sure the heat is OFF - even here in the Northeast when it's 24 degrees outside. I keep the heat on in the other room and that's enough. I use thin but heavy cotton blankets. Being cool at night is such an important part of sleep hygiene. As for mattresses, mine is terrible - but they say it's not at all a reason to choose a mattress. If you really want to base your mattress choice on body temperature though, I've heard that LATEX is the best - and for allergy sufferers, too. Best of luck!
Yes there are heated mattress pads available for someone that wants to stay warmer. There usually is several heat settings for specfic needs but be warned there have been reviews of mattress pads sparking in the past.
