What is the best way of disposal of sanitary napkins?

It is important to dispose of sanitary napkins in the correct manner. You should wrap your used towel in a plastic wrapper that was around the new towel or roll a piece of toilet paper around it and put it in the dustbin.

This is a huge responsibility of the one who is using pads and now want to dispose it off. You have to be very responsible while disposing off your pad. If you are not aware the pad you dispose without proper packing and just throw it direct into dustbins or in open area let me, tell you, this garbage is picked up by waste-pickers- who are the ones, who segregate the biodegradable and non-biodegradable waste. They don't use face-masks or gloves for this which means they are vulnerable to various microorganisms that thrive in the soiled pads. They are exposed to diseases caused by E coli, Salmonella, Staphylococcus and pathogens that cause hepatitis and tetanus.

Put Your Pad in the Bathroom/toilet garbage and NEVER FLUSH the Pad

• Roll up the used pad after removing it from your underwear.

• Place the rolled-up pad in the disposal bag and seal the bag or wrap the pad in a piece of paper make a red dot.

• Put the wrapped pad in the garbage can.

• Take out the garbage bag with the used pad in it as soon as possible

• Wash your hands when you are done

I’m using pads from a brand called Anandi from past few month. They provide compostable disposal bag with each pad along with red dot sticker for hygienic disposal of pads.
