The fuel pump is located in the gas tank, I find it a lot easier taking off the pickup to replace the pump rather than to take off the gas tank. i second the bed removal version versus dropping the tank cause i have done it both ways and taking off the truck bed is way easier.just make sure you disconnect the ground strap from the gas tank filler neck(Thx to my buddy Ron for showing me how easy they break when not disconnected, lol.) and try to have three friends to help you lift the bed off,i just set it down nice and easy in the yard and all was well.
The 1996 Chevrolet Silverado no longer came with throttle body fuel injection. It probably has the central sequential fuel injection system (CSFI) where each cylinder has its own fuel injector.
You'll need to drop the tank. Then the fuel sensor/fuel pump comes out through the top.
Your truck does not have one.
For a 1996 silverado, there is no fuse between the fuel pump relay and the fuel pump. There is 2 connectors, one just outside the tank and one inside the tank connecting to the fuel pump itself that could be your problem if the fuel pump is good.
It is inside the upper intake manifold.
You only change the fuel pump when it fails. But do change the fuel filter every 50,000 miles.
I have a 2003 Chevrolet silverado 6.0 4x4 crew cab and I need to change the fuel pump, all I am requesting is for the delco# or thegm part #
You have to drop the fuel tank. The pump is located inside the tank.
It is supposed to change the shift pattern. Normal is for the best fuel economy and power is for best performance
can i change 1 fuel injector on 4.3 6 cylinder silverado 2003.
The fuel filter on the 1997 Silverado is located inside of the fuel tank.
No you dont have to change the fuel pressure regulator unless there was something wrong with it to begin with.
