A 355 is just a 350 bored 0.030 over. There really is no difference. this is true but to further the answer if only you bore the cylenders out in the block you will need to buy aftermarket pistons to make up for the new wider space so you dont have compkications with the pistons slapping the cylender walls

Bore it .030 over. A 350 has a 4 inch bore. When you go .030 over, the cid., becomes 355.

Chevrolet never made a 354 big block. So is say the difference is that a 496 is real and 354 is not. there is talk of a 354 small block but they are all from UK and id be inclined to say they are actually talking about a 355.
A 355 small block engine should use either 10w-30 or 5w-20 viscosity motor oil. They provide a good balance of protection in most driving conditions.
a 357 Chevy is a just a smallblock 350 Chevy bored .040 over for a total CID of 357, just as one bored .030 is a 355 Chevy. a standard rebuilt 350 is generally bored out during the rebuild process to usually 355, sometimes 357. right now i have a 357 Chevy in my 1970 chevelle
There will be a cap on the valve cover. Usually the drivers side, but, it varies.

A 350 .030 over is 355 cid. Chevy made a 348, but that was considered a big block. It was the pre curser to the 409, and was made in the late 50's. A 377, and a 383, are versions of hybrids between the 350, and 400. Cannot say I have heard of that one.
