a catalytic converter is something that attaches to the cars exhaust, usually attached right to the engines exhaust manifold. It's purpose is to finish burning unburned, or partially burned fuel. It uses accelerants in order to do this. as such it's full of many precious minerals such as gold and platinum which is why they are so expensive.

The catalyst monitor is a system that uses two oxygen sensors. one before the catalytic converter and one after. By using these two sensors the catalyst monitor system can determine if the converter is properly doing it's job. this system can throw a check engine light code usually for a bad converter or one or both of the oxygen sensors is bad.

Where is the location of oxygen sensor bank 2 sensor 2 on a 2001 ford expedition 4WD 5.4engine?

On a Ford Expedition , 5.4 and 4.6 Bank 2 is the drivers side of the engine Sensor 2 is in the exhaust AFTER the catalytic converter ( downstream sensor also called the catalyst monitor )

Where is bank 1 sensor 2 on a 2003 ford expedition?

Bank 1 is the passenger side of the engine Sensor 2 is after the exhaust gas has passed through the catalytic converter ( downstream ) also known as a catalyst monitor

Where is bank 1 02 sensor on 1998 ford expedition?

On a 1998 Ford Expedition : Bank 1 is the passenger side of the engine ( 4.6 and 5.4 ) Sensor 1 would be close to the engine BEFORE the exhaust enters the catalytic converter Sensor 2 would be AFTER the exhaust has passed through the catalytic converter ( also called a catalyst monitor )

Why it is important to monitor greenhouse gases?

To see the level of Carbon emissions we are producing so we can continue reducing it.

Because they are major pollutants that contribute to acid rain.

What does the oxygen sensor on exhaust pipe do?

They monitor the air/fuel mixture before and after the cat converter and communicates with the cpu to help with emissions.

How do cells monitor DNA integrity?

Cells monitor DNA integrity by using enzymes. Enzymes search for errors, for example, double strand breaks. Enzymes provide the function of a catalyst in order to bring about a particular biochemical reaction.
