What is the cause of immorality among students?

To keep morality in society, especially among children and students, there should be existing strong corrective forces in society. In past ages, religion served this purpose but since the rise of Atheism and science no such corrective forces as religion is holding its sway. And atheism and science could neither assume the role of corrective forces. Man is an excellent imitator of anything and everything. So naturally a child or a student will imitate and mimic what he sees around him that are being acted by his elders in his society which nowadays are not fine examples to follow. Immorality in youngsters has its roots in elders. Let us take the instance of immorality we find among students. He sees the face of his teacher eight hours in a day and that of his father one hour in a day. Which would he imitate? When the decline of the standard and integrity of schooling began, then also began the immorality among students. Suppose a teacher, for example a lady, comes to class wearing a provocative, scanty dress and the attention of the adolescent boy in the class wavers. She might be doing it since it might be the only outing she gets to show her new dress. But the career of the boy is lost for ever. Whom to blame and accuse? Everyone knows that when some teachers who are famous for their very interesting and informative classes are taking classes, even the most roguish and wayward students in that institution would invariably be present and be silent also so as not to miss a word. They know, such classes are rare experiences, to be enjoyed only once in a life time. It is such teachers, though scant in numbers, who hold the withering society intact. So when the question of the responsibility for the immorality among students comes, the accusing finger turns to the teacher, who is the only person available and authorized to correct them.

Students in collage may act out for a variety of reasons, including no reason at all. Students may feel the independence they have and not care about any consequences that may occur.
