Before the black plague Europe's population was 80 million. An estimated 25 million people were killed and that was just between 1347-1351. World-wide an estimated 75 million people died.

However, for the survivors, the Death Rate was sort of a good thing. Labor became more valuable and some historians say that it got rid of feudalism and began a more fair form of economy-capitalism. It also could've led to labor-saving technology-which makes sense.

Unfortunately, the black plague also meant more persecution for the Jews. Survivors-somehow-blamed the disease on the Jewish populaton and they were kicked out of Europe. Therefore, their possessions could be confiscated.
