What is the conflict of the book Anastasia The Last Grand Duchess?

The conflict was basically the war and how she (and her family) are trying to support themselves and all of Russia. It is a really great book and i suggest it to anyone. ( its not one of those really boring ones that says "i went to supper today wih my nurse, i wish something would happen so i could go outside" this book is really fun)

When I was younger I read books about Anastasia's time period, the ones I read were: "Anastasia, the last Grand Duchess" in the royal Diary series, and "The Secret Countess" by Eva Ibbotson, I hope this could help at least a bit. There are the usual derivatives of the movies and stuff in, loosely the comic book vein. More seriously there are good historical novels such as Curse of the Romanovs in which Anastasia is only a peripheral character most of the attention focused on the sole Male member of the young clan, Prince Alexis. The novel involves time travel and black magic and cool culture shock as Alexis encounters modern Manhattan and is most impressed by- It figures, Cell Phones!
Why was Anastasia The Last Grand Duchess arrested?
They (her and her family) were arrested because the Tsar (her father) was thought to be unfair and a threat and they also thought The Tsarina (her mother) was a German spy ( she was born in Germany and they were fighting agains Germany). In many views the arrest was unfair, unjust, and wrong. The Tsar was not the best Tsar but he was not the problem. If you wan to lean more about Anastasia i suggest you read "Anastasia: the last grand duchess" from the royal diaries series. It not only describes their story but you get to know them for who they were. And it tells you a fabulous story leading up to her unfair and gruesome death.

Why was Anastasia the last grand duchess famous?
It is known that the Bolsheviks killed the Czar and his family, however, for many years it was not entirely clear if Anastasia also died. In theory, had the Czarists (also known as White Russians) tried to overthrow the communist dictatorship and bring back the monarchy, they would have needed Anastasia, as the last legitimate claimant to the throne. But that never happened, and it is now believed that Anastasia did die with the other members of her family, at the hands of the Bolsheviks.

There were several Princesses named Anastasia in Russia. The most famous one was the fourth daughter of Nicholas II, the last Russian Tsar. Her full title was Her Imperial Highness The Grand Duchess Anastasia Nicolaievna of Russia (b. June 18, 1901, believed to have died July 17, 1918.) After the Imperial family was executed in 1918 there have been several people who claimed to be Anastasia, but they either lacked proof, or were proven to be impostors. Recent archaeological research in July and August 2007 at the execution site in Ekaterinburg, Russia discovered remains believed to be those of Anastasia. DNA testing results from DNA submitted by Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, first cousin to the children of the Tsar and Empress, have proven the remains are those of two of the Tsar's children. The male remains were those of the Tsarevitch Alexei, while the female ones were initially believed to be Anastasia, but were proven to be s sister Grand Duchess Marie. Anastasia's fate remains uncertain. However, it most likely is nothing like the various fictional accounts.

I personally have a deep fascination with the Grand Duchess Anastasia and much of what I have learned I either got off of Wikipedia or I found in books. One good book is "The Last Days of the Romanovs" but that's more about their last days leading up to their murder and a detailed history of them. The actual references to Anastasia are sadly very short. But definitely take a trip to your local library for books, check out sources online, and a good website is Frozentears.org. It has a lot of information on the Romanovs. Just stay away from the Animated movie, it is almost pure fiction. You won't learn much of anything from there.
