It should tell in the owners manual or on the door jam.

The correct radiator cap is determined by the amount of pressure it is designed to hold, not temperature. The standard radiator cap for that Olds is probably a 15 or 16 pound cap. The correct temperature of the engine would be determined by the thermostat which would be 195 degrees F.

The vtec oil pressure switch tells the computer when the engine has the correct amount of oil pressure for the vtec to engage.

The correct tire pressure for a Vauxhall Astra 1.4 liter engine is approximately 32 psi. Ensuring the correct tire pressure is used on the vehicle we help the tread life of the tires as well as the overall performance of the car.

It is 28-45psi with engine running and 35-45psi with key on engine off.

The standard fuel pressure for a 1998 Chevy 3500 with a 454 engine is 50 PSI. If fuel pressure drops much below this level, the fuel injectors will not work properly.

Depends on the year, make and engine. Need more info.

User Avatar

the fuel pressure should be 40-60 psi and should be checked under full load :)

For most vehicles, the fuel pump only turns on briefly when you try to start the engine. If the engine doesn't start, the pump turns off. You need to test the fuel pressure with the engine running.

No!It is illegal. The check engine light will always stay on.The engine may actually run worse due to the computer trying to correct oxygen sensor readings and the change in exhaust back pressure. No!It is illegal. The check engine light will always stay on.The engine may actually run worse due to the computer trying to correct oxygen sensor readings and the change in exhaust back pressure.

Advertised engine oil pressure is: 1000 RPMs----6 LBS or more 2000 RPMs-----18 LBS. are higher

User Avatar

It makes the engine run smoother. You use Standard Temperature and Pressure so you have a thermal/barometric point of reference.

Not the correct oil for engine, Engine idling rpm to low, Faulty oil pressure sending unit, High mileage on engine, Lack of oil changes and maintenance on engine,

2.2L engine, 41 to 47 psi. 4.3L engine, 60 to 66 psi. This is with the fuel pump running, engine off.

1. Engine compression perform engine compression and cylinder difference test. 2. Fuel filter and fuel pump pressure verify the in tank booster pump is running and producing the correct pressure. Replace all fuel filters.

The question you mean to ask is about the transmissions--standard or automatic. This has nothing to do with the engine.

User Avatar

If its a turbo car it will stall if the blow off valve is not shutting properly as the pressure drop is too much for the engine to keep turning, same with lpg when you idle the pressure in the engine drops and it will stall you can correct this by changing the timing

User Avatar

Oil pressure should be at least 10 psi when the vehicle is idling. At highway speeds, it should be about 21 to 23 psi.

User Avatar

It would be nice to know the years of the 2 engines to tell you the fuel pressure for sure. But I do KNOW that the Vortec engine requires alot more fuel pressure to run the engine then your other engine requires.

On a 1996 Ford Explorer , 4.0 liter OHV , V6 engine : If you look in the engine compartment from the passenger side , on top of the engine , approximately 1 to 1 and 1/2 inches to the left of the engine oil fill tube you will see the fuel pressure regulator ( if my memory is correct )

User Avatar

The fuel pressure regulator maintains a constant predetermined fuel pressure regardless of engine RPMs.

If the light was on before you changed the oil and you now have the correct amount of oil, and correct viscosity, then it can be that your oil pump is defective. not putting out enough pressure. if you have an oil gauge, if that shows oil pressure is OK, then your light can be shorted out.

User Avatar

the engine gets hot and while your engine is running your oil is going through your engine lubbing it. by the time the engine gets hot the oil is spread throughout the engine. if you have too much oil in the gauge will act weird because its hooked up to your oil to read its pressure. if it was youroil pump or switch it would do this when the engine was cold to. make sure the oil is at the correct level b4 spending money on a switch or pummp

User Avatar

can anybody say where the engine oil pressure switch in a car and can there be any engine oil leak through the engine oil pressure switch? The location varies by engine and yes, they can leak oil.
