If one has spent years around automobiles it might be reasonable to perform that kind of change. If you are thinking of having a shop do the work for you, it will cost a LOT! Some of the older cars might not be that difficult, but newer vehicles have far too much interconnecting equipment to make such a change practical.

You can change a manual transmission to an automatic. It can cost upwards of 3,000 dollars to do this for a Volkswagen Polo.

It can cost between $500 and $2000 to change a manual transmission to an automatic transmission. The labor costs will depend on the specific shop charges.

It will cost between $1500 and $3000 to change your automatic transmission to a manual transmission. The price is dependent upon the type of manual transmission.

Yes it can be done, but there is really no point as it is a big job and will cost more than its worth. Plus a manual transmission is way better than a automatic. If you would rather have a automatic transmission it would be wise to just sell the vehicle that has the manual and buy a vehicle equipped with an automatic.

No! You can replace it with a manual, but an A/T cannot be converted.

You Can perform an engine swap to a h22a manual or a b16 manual. You will get more power with the h22a but the motor cost money.

If by standard you mean manual (one you shift yourself), it would be automatic. It is cheper for the car manufacturer to make manual transmission than automatic. However, since automatic cars have become so prominent many manufacturers don't charge extra for an automatic transmission.

Yes, you can change your automatic transmission to a Tiptronic or manual transmission in a 2001 Toyota Celica. The cost will vary depending on the type of transmission and whether or not you do the work yourself. To have the transfer done, it could cost up to about $8000 or even a little more. Doing it yourself would probably cost under $5000.

As of 2014, the cost to change from anรŠautomatic to a manual transmission on a Toyota Altezza is between $4,000 and $6,000. The actual cost will depend on the labor cost.

Sell '91 Metro manual. Purchase '91 Metro automatic. You'll be less than $500 out of pocket which is a lot less than a serviceable automatic will cost.

User Avatar

Yes, that is possible. But you would need a donor car in order to have all the parts necessary. Otherwise the cost of doing this would be astronomical. My advice is to sell the Honda with an automatic transmission and buy a Honda with a manual transmission.

User Avatar

It is not hard if you know how to drive a manual. If you're thinking about changing your transmission: Buy another car with an A/T instead. It is way more cost effective.

The cost of converting a Jeep Wrangler from a manual transmission to an automatic one will be approximately $4,000 in parts alone. If you choose to have a mechanic do the work, it will be approximately another $1,000 to $1,500. These figures depend on your geography and the skill level of the mechanic in question.

User Avatar

you are better off trading the car in for an automatic...it is not worth the time or money.

User Avatar

By selling this car and buying another one with a manual. Unless you have a donor car, with all the parts, this would be cost prohibitive.

User Avatar

buy a new car... seriously. Will cost you less than paying someone to do it. (I haven't even mentioned the cost of the parts)

manuel transmission for what

User Avatar

Not as Cheap as the Manual Transmission is, But A Salvaged Transmission plus Labor cost will run you around $6-800 if you price match everything and call around. Normaly a car this old is not worth changing out such a major part, at the value of the vehicle is exceeded by the repair.

In 1992 the Ford installed manual transmissions in the Super Coupe ONLY, automatic was an extra cost option. Thunderbird, Thunderbird Sport, and Thunderbird LX, in V-6 or V-8 had automatic transmissions ONLY.

Anything is possible, but the cost would likely be outrageous.
