To join Mensa a person must have an IQ in the top 2% population. Mensa run frequent supervised IQ tests, and they will inform you of whether or not you are elligible to join when they send you your test results. There are a number of different IQ tests, and they use different scales. On the Cattell III B test a score of 148 is needed to join, but on the Cattell Culture Fair III A you (only) need 132.
