In petroleum engineering, an oil rim field is an oil field with a relatively thin oil zone below a gas cap. At the edges of the reservoir there will ususally be an area where the top of the reservoir is below the gas/oil contact, thus forming a "rim" containing only oil, with no overlying gas.

Soybean oil weighs 7.6776 pounds per US gallon, or 0.92 kilogram per liter.
rim
The oil may get on the brakes which you don't want.
Dollar coins with 'milling' or ridges around the rim.
An edge can be of a shape in a plane while a rim suggests a three dimensional object with a defined outer portion. In geometry and topology "edge" has a definition which is very precise. "rim" haa no such specific determination.
Oil will not mix with water.

The definiton of saturated oils is oil in thongs and condoms!
oil
An oil filler cap is a metal that covers the hole where the oil is poured.
The definition of oil containment booms is, 'a temporary floating barrier used to contain an oil spill.' Containment booms help to prevent polluting the shore line.
The rim can be the circumference of a two-dimentional circle (hence rim-fire cartridges are bullets which are struck on the edge of their circular end, or a rimshot which is a beat on the outer circumference of a drum head) but the word is more often used to describe the edge of a three-dimensional object with an open circular side--a bowl or cylinder.
Oil makes things "slip", it is a lubricant, it reduces friction. Brake blocks work by "gripping" the wheel rim and stop the wheel turning using high friction between the block and the rim. Placing oil on the brake blocks will reduce their efficiency and if the rider can not stop quickly they may run into things.
Spray with penetrating oil and beat on it from the rear with a hammer
