What is the departure of Muhammad from Mecca to Medina called?

In Arabic it's called Al-Hijra or Al-Hegira (الهجرة ) which means the migration (or flight). It is also known as the beginning of Islam's lunar calendar (which they use for feasts and celebrations). It took place June 21st and July 2nd in 622 CE., and he did it to escape an assassination plot in Mecca. The Hijra is the migration of the Islamic prophet Muhammad and his followers to the city of Medina.
