Not sure that I can do this in words that "kids" can understand, but I'll try. The Catholic Church was formed in the first century by God, in the person of Jesus Christ, who guaranteed it until the end of the world, and sent the Holy Spirit to guide it always. The Catholics in the following century wrote The Bible as part of their preaching.

The Baptists were started in the early 17th century by the English separatist, John Symth in Amsterdam on his understanding of the New Testament. In other words, the Baptists were started by a human being sixteen centuries after Christ on that man's individual thoughts on what the church *should* look like.
