The H-1B visa is a subtype of the H1 visa that provides all of the same advantages as the H1 visa, but it is only available to professionals who have earned a bachelor's degree or higher or an equivalent degree, or who are certified specialists.
A bachelor's degree or a higher degree (Masters, PhD, etc.) must be held by these individuals. Today, an H1B visa is given for each H1 visa.
In the past, there were H1A and H1C visas, but they are no longer in use because they were intended as special situations to address nursing shortages.
However, if you are a citizen of Chile or Singapore, you may still be eligible for a unique H1B1 visa. The cumulative maximum period of the H-1B Specialty Occupation Work Authorization Visa is 6 years. For people having H-1B status, the initial duration of stay is three (3) years, with subsequent extensions possible for another three (3) years.
There are various differences between H1 Visa and the H1B Visa. Both of them are temporary visas, but the HIB is more flexible for working conditions.
Both are same
H1B visas last 3 years. You can only have two and then you have to apply for a Green Card or return to your home country. Your wife and child can get H4 visas if you have a H1. Your wife would not be able to work legally on an H4 but your child can attend school. You can get a driver's license with an HI. You can only legally work for the company named on the H1B visa and no other company.
Both are same
Without any work experience you will not be able to find a legitimate company to sponsor you for an H1 visa so almost impossible. H1B visa has few requirements that includes bachelor degree, work experience. Sponsor employer should show to US department you are eligible for the work and you have required skill sets.
You can marry the green card holder but that does not affect your ability to work. Your right to work is completely tied to your OPT and then your H1B. If there is no gap between the end of your OPT and start of H1B then you can carry on working. If your OPT ends then you have to stop working and can not start work again until you have your H1B. Your marriage to a green card holder is irrelevant - you must have your own visa to stay in the USA.
H4 visa holders are not allowed to legally work. H4 is a derivative of an H1 visa. H4 visa holders are allowed entry to US because they are dependents of H1 visa holder. H4 visa holders are not eligible for Social Security Number. H4 visa holder may apply EAD only if filed concurrently with the principal's (H1 Visa holder) I-140 petition OR if principal's I-140 petition is pending or approved.
