The difference between a nuclear power station and a fossil fuel power station is primarily the source of heat. The nuclear power station uses a nuclear reactor to generate heat, while the fossil fuel power station uses coal or natural gas to generate heat. A secondary difference between the two is that the fossil fuel power station is a high pressure steam cycle, while the nuclear power station is a medium pressure steam cycle. Other than that, the two are very similar.
