If you are filtering something you are determining what parts liquid or solid can stay and what can go. If you are reabsorbing something that means the product has been produced and will then be brought back into the producer naturally. The difference between the two is the stuff that is filtered is not necessarily always reabsorbed.

filtration- The act or process of filtering; the mechanical separation of a liquid from the undissolved particles floating in it.

diffusion- Movement of a fluid from an area of higher concentration to an area of lower concentration. Diffusion is a result of the kinetic properties of particles of matter. The particles will mix until they are evenly distributed.

Diffusion is when substances are intermingled or mixed together naturally. Filtration is the process of filtering something. The difference is that filtration separates things and diffusion mixes them together.

Diffusion involves particles moving from an area of higher concentration to an area of lower concentration. Filtration has nothing to do with concentration.

Why do you use sedimentation followed by filtration to convert river water to drinking water?

Filtration helps in removing the suspended particles while sedimentation helps in removing those particles ,settles down under gravitational pull..

There are several terms for removing solids from a liquid: filtration, settling, decantation or sedimentation.

What is the difference between sedimentation and centrifugation?

sedimentation is the tendency for particles in suspension to settle down when there is a stirring in it.this is due to there motion through the fluid in response to the force acting on them centrifugation is the process of increasing the level of sedimentation by using a centrifuge.

What is the difference between filtration and reabsorbtion?

Filtration Filtration is accomplished by the movement of fluids from the blood into the bowmans capsule. = Reabsorption = = Reabsorption involves the selective transfer of essential solutes and = water back into the blood.

What is filtration and why better than sedimention?

Filtration is an effective method because it removes most of the dirt from a liquid whereas in sedimentation some semi soluble dirt is still left in the liquid and is not removed.

Why Filtration is a better method than simple sedimentation and decantation?

Filtration can remove solid particles as small as 1 micron. Simply decanting, or allowing solids to settle - will not remove the smallest particles.
