Volvulus is a twisting, while intussusception is a telescope-like collapse of the bowel into intself.
In intussusception, the bowel telescopes into itself like a radio antenna folding up.
The bowel which includes the small and large intestine. Twisted bowel or volvulus - twisting and abnormal looping of either the small intestine (small bowel volvulus) or the large intestine (colonic volvulus). colonic is split into two types cecal and sigmoid. All usually cause bowel obstruction.
The term volvulus means twisted bowels. It is a very dangerous condition.
Intussusception
Such nonsurgical techniques as the administration of IV fluids, bowel decompression with a nasogastric tube, or a therapeutic enema are often successful in reducing intussusception. Patients whose symptoms point to bowel perforation.
Intussusception occurs when one portion of the bowel slides into the next, much like the pieces of a telescope. When this occurs, it creates an obstruction in the bowel, with the walls of the intestines pressing against one another. This, in turn, leads to swelling, inflammation, and decreased blood flow to the intestines involved. How fish and intussusception combine, I cannot say.
the administration of IV fluids, bowel decompression with a nasogastric tube, or a therapeutic enema are often successful in reducing intussusception. Patients whose symptoms point to bowel perforation or strangulation, however, require immediate surgery
After surgical treatment of an intussusception, the patient is given fluids intravenously until bowel function returns; he or she may then be allowed to resume a normal diet. Follow-up care may be indicated if.
Complications associated with intussusception reduction include reactions to general anesthesia; perforation of the bowel; wound infection; urinary tract infection; excessive bleeding; and formation of adhesions.

The outcome of intussusception depends on the duration of symptoms before treatment initiation. Most infants will recover if treatment is initiated within the first 24 hours. Untreated intussusception is almost always fatal.
Bowel obstruction in a patient of this age is unusual but does occur. The most common causes are: appendicitis, adhesions, inguinal hernia, inflammatory bowel disease, intussusception, or malrotation.
