First of all, KARMA is a Buddhist pronunciation whereas KARAM is a Hindu pronunciation. These two sound dangerously similar, but they are critically different by definitions. It is either +ve or -ve.

A. KARAM in Hinduism:

1. It covers the effects of all positive or negative actions exercised by human beings. Bad actions have bad effects and the vise versa. E.g bad actions are stealing, lying, beating, snatching, hurting and so on.

2. One level of KARAM is physically oriented actions- Feeding poor people(LANGER), Protection and justice to the Vedas and its followers ( Ramayan, Mahabharat, Kurukshetra war( Bhagwat Gita). Even the rejection of Buddhism by Hindu philosophers was a part of this inherent belief.

3. Another level of KARAM is mental level- Worshiping, praising, loving and devotion to the GODs like Krishna, Ram, Shiva, Hanuman, Durga, Venus , Kalimata and so on. This level of KARAM is ensured by Kirtan, Bhajan, recitation of their names like JI MATA DI, JAI Bajrang Bali, Hary RAMA Hary RAMA, RAMA RAMA Hary Hary and so on. These acts are called good KARAM

4. Another higher level of KARAM is at conscious and physical levels- Meditations and Yoga- PATANJALI etc. The followers strive to meet GOD in meditations and to get an able physic with yoga.

5. Bad effects of previous KARAM can be undone by the gods if we genuinely do the mentioned different levels of good KARAMS.

KARAM conclusion: All good KARAM are called SERVICES TO THE GODS and therefore gods are in our favour.

B. KARMA in Buddhism

The Buddha declared that he can't remove or excuse one's bad karmic effects. A Buddha have power to command through the law of nature, but doesn't have power to overpower the law itself. Also, he doesn't have power to create an additional sin for me. This is simply for the following two reasons:

  1. A sin is an event of time that can't be settled down without a cause (e.g a force, a sound, a pressure etc.) and a cause can never be settled down without an effect (e.g a feeling, an experience, an action, an impression etc.). Therefore if the event has already happened it is impossible to back track the elapsed seconds. This is because our present body,mind and conditions are quite different from how it was during our previous bad karma. So the present body is not fit to simulate the past.
  2. A sin is caused by an individual, so only the initiator is likely to do something for what he/she has caused in a real sense. Therefore, if I am not serious about my unhappiness then why should Buddha be so much interested in it. This is the law of nature.

" If I give you anything that I don't want from you OR if I take from you anything that I don't want to give you" is a bad karma. Negation of this equation becomes a good karma.

Past Karmic effects are already registered for a course of repercussions that can be eased, reshaped and preponed to a level through indirect means, but impossible to get them cancelled or postponed.

Following list shows a typical, rough and obvious KARMIC path. This shows the %age contribution into the distribution of karmic bank balance at our subconscious levels. Every level of contribution has got a corresponding level of symptoms and gain. Each KARMA (Conduct) is processed with four major moral inputs (1.Intention 2. Evaluation 3. Decision 4. Action) at a given point of time. Basically, a KARMA is a set of interactions ( positively or negatively) that grows and continously loops back. Here -ve means poor, bad or worst.

1 =>Intention => if -ve =>Lack of peace =>Gain = -25% ,

2 =>Evaluation=>if-ve=>Loss of confidence=>Gain = -25-25=-50%.

3 =>Decision =>if-ve=>Birth of -ve habits=> Gain = -50-25=-75%.

4 =>Action=>if-ve=>Ego of ignorance and sufferings =>Gain =-75-25=-100%

then loops back again Next

1st ==>-100-25=-125%

2nd==>-125-25=-150%

3rd==>-150-25=-175%

4th==>-175-25=-200% then again and with limitless severity everytime.

KARMA CONCLUSION: Buddha can make us highly skilled masters in the science of positive INTENTION, EVALUATION, DECISION and ACTIONS by bringing a complete transition in the KARMIC path from negative to positive. The most important thing to understand is that I have to do most of the things by myself, because, finally no one can rescheduled or omit any of the four steps in my KARMIC path. Others can only help and support it.

Meaning of the KARMIC path tends to become meaningless specifically for a person when he/she comes closer to the enlightenment. Means, for Buddhas karmic laws are insignificant. Because the Buddhas have no intention, evaluation, decision and action for themselves, but they can well teach us. Relationship between the Buddhas and the Karma is like the relationship between a mango and the tree. A mango tree knows how to bring out a mango that can cause a new mango tree, but still the tree has nothing to do with the mango. Therefore, a mango is our requirement and purely not for the tree.

Karam is a misspelling of the word. The word in Sanskrit, Hindi, and other Indian languages is the same as that in Buddhism, i.e., 'karma'.

There is no difference between Hinduism and Buddhism, bar for saying. If Buddhism does not believe in Vedas, there are other sects in Hinduism which also do not believe in Vedas (Natha sect). And if Buddhism does not believe in Caste System, there are sects in Hinduism also which do not believe in castes (Vaishnavas). Buddhism is only a re-affirmation of 'dharma'.
