Raclette is generally cooked in a little oven on tables in Switzerland, it consists of cheese and sliced cooked potato. You out the potato and cheese on a little tray and slide it into the oven to melt the cheese, you can top it off with gherkin's, onions, paprika etc.
A fondue is made in a fondue pot and you spear chunks of bread and dip it into the fondue pot of melted cheese. You can have meat and fish and sweet fondues as well.

For meat fondue in broth, you need a fuel burner or an electrical fondue pot. For chocolate fondue, you melt your chocolate prior and keep it warm with a candle under the pot. (a chocolate fondue pot is smaller than a meat fondue pot)
Currently, you can purchase Raclette Cheese online for about $12.99 a pound. Of course, they will always get you with the shipping, but from my experience, that is cheaper than when I find it (IF I can) in stores.
