You can use Sour Cream of Mayonnaise as a substitute of yogurt.
Depends on the burger toppings. Mayonnaise goes well if you have basic burger toppings (eg, lettuce, tomatoes, ect). But sour cream would be good with something more extravagant.
Sure it can. It depends on what you are making though. Mayo is higher in calories but is very creamy

You won't get the same flavour. Mayonnaise is soy based and sour cream is milk based. But if you're desperate and don't care about the flavour then by all means, replace away. And yes I know I spelled 'flavour" wrong by American standards, but I'm British and that's how you spell it in Britain.
You can substitute buttermilk as a nice, tasty alternative. So is mayonnaise.

Nope. Sour cream has to do with One certain ingredient and Sour ice cream is like sour milk but the sour in the ice cream is the milk:)
No. Sour cream and heavy cream have different functions, and produce different flavors. If you don't have sour cream or heavy cream handy, find a cheesecake recipe that doesn't call for them.
