The difference between Missionary Baptists and Southern Baptists is that Southern Baptists believe in two kinds of church , the local and the universal which they believed to be invisible, whereas Missionary Baptists believe that the church is always local and visible, not invisible. Southern Baptists believe that they are protestant reformers which came out from the Roman Catholic during the reformation, about 17th century whereas Missionary Baptists believe that they are the descendants of the 1st Century church founded by the Lord Jesus Christ.

Primitive Baptists believe in predestination and also we do not have Sunday schools or Musical Instruments.

This does not answer the question of the difference between missionary and southern baptists. Missionary baptists have closed communion and baptism to be members. Southern baptists are all about evangelism - dunk and dump.

Missionary baptists and free will baptists differ on whether salvation can be lost or persists. Free will baptists believe that people can fall from grace through their actions while missionary baptists believe that salvation persists.

Missionary Baptist Churches do not believe in denominations or the invisible governance of another higher organization. They believe that the management of the churches should be independent of each other and therefore visible. Churches of these kind trace back their church authority through the chain of churches to the early Christian churches of the first century.

Southern Baptist churches are churches linked to the Southern Baptist Convention, an organization of churches and pastors who plant new churches and manage them through the local convention mission.. therefore each church organized are not independent in local management. There is also a question here of church authority which could not be traced back to the early Christians because said authority stops at the convention.

southern baptist were adament about baptismals by full submersion under water as symbolic gesture of total surrender and renewal of the spirit. other baptist did just the little sprinkle thing sometimes and that kinda bothered some of the died in wool types. neo-Nazis seized this idea for a long time and tricked many people into the idea of submission. but the southern baptists had good colleges before the final revalation of the end time occurring at the end of this sentence.

The only difference is the larger group that they are affiliated with. A Southern Baptist Church is affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention, which is one of many Baptist Groups. There are differences between baptist churches (even within the convention) because one of the most important Baptist beliefs is that of soul competancy, or the ability of each individual and church to interpret The Bible themselves, and the freedom to worship according to their own conscience. This means that every baptist church might be a little bit different than the others. Southern Baptist churches are generally pretty conservative, however, there are exceptions.
