There are actually 2 ways to do the route. You could either:

  • Go into Michigan, U.S.A. and use the interstate (recommended)
  • Or, if you don't want to, or cannot, you could also go through the back highways in Ontario (alternative)

It is 302.5 kilometres going through the U.S.A. This is the route:

  1. Head out of Irongate Circle and make a RIGHT onto Calderwood.
  2. Take Calderwood Ave to Walker Rd. TURN LEFT onto Walker Rd.
  3. Take Walker Rd up to the E.C. ROW EXPWY - WEST to the BRIDGE TO U.S.A. TURN LFET onto the E.C. ROW EXPWY - WEST.
  4. Take the E.C. ROW EXPWY - WEST to HURON CHURCH RD to the BRIDGE TO U.S.A. EXIT, and then TURN RIGHT off the exit ramp onto HURON CHURCH RD - NORTH to the BRIDGE TO U.S.A.
  5. Take Huron Church Rd up to the BRIDGE TO U.S.A.
  6. Cross the AMBASSADOR BRIDGE (toll bridge) into DETROIT, MICHIGAN, U.S.A.
  7. Once you have crossed the bridge, follow signs to I-94, and then, once you are at I-94, follow signs to I-94 EAST to PORT HURON.
  8. Take I-94 EAST to Port Huron, where you will follow signs to the BRIDGE TO Canada.
  9. Cross the BLUE WATER BRIDGE into SARNIA, ONTARIO, CANADA.
  10. Once you have crossed, continue on HIGHWAY 402 - EAST to HIGHWAY 21 to FOREST and GRAND BEND off EXIT 34. Follow signs to HIGHWAY 21 - NORTH to FOREST and GRAND BEND.
  11. Take HIGHWAY 21 - NORTH to KINCARDINE, where you will follow signs to the AIRPORT.

This route is recommended because you will be driving mostly on freeways.

If you do not wish to take this route, you can also take the alternative route driving through the back highways in Ontario, staying in Canada.

This route is 349.5 kilometres taking this route:

  1. Go out to Calderwood and make a RIGHT.
  2. Take Calderwood Ave to Walker Rd. Turn RIGHT onto Walker Rd.
  3. Take Walker Rd to HIGHWAY 401 - EAST. Follow signs.
  4. Take HIGHWAY 401 - EAST to HIGHWAY 40 to CHATHAM off EXIT 90. Follow signs to HIGHWAY 40 - NORTH to CHATHAM.
  5. Take HIGHWAY 40 - NORTH to HIGHWAY 402 - EAST to LONDON, outside of Sarnia.
  6. Take HIGHWAY 402 - EAST to HIGHWAY 21 to FOREST and GRAND BEND off EXIT 34. EXIT, and then follow signs to HIGHWAY 21 - NORTH to FOREST and GRAND BEND.
  7. Take HIGHWAY 21 - NORTH to KINCARDINE, where you will follow signs to the AIRPORT.
