∙ 15y agoDragonflies do not belong to a single family. All belong to the suborder Anisoptera, but they are separated into different families, such as Libellulidae (common skimmers/perchers), Aeshnidae (darners/hawkers), Gomphidae (clubtails), Petaluridae (petaltails) and Corduliidae(emeralds).

- I believe that most people just call them dragonflies. I've never heard them called anything else.

∙ 12y agoThe dragonfly looks like a dragon, in the sense that it flies with wings in the shade of green, and the entire body of the dragonfly gives the illusion of "scales" because of its green and blue color.
