Arctic cat is a great ride for a lot cheaper then Can am or Yamaha is $ is a concern
Honda is good quality but no thrills
Kawasaki is just ok
Polaris is absolute junk!!!! - proven time after time
If looking for the fastest buy the best brand u can afford, preferably with a dealer located close to u for parts as needed and purchase the biggest engine u can afford, In my opinion 650 and up is fast but I prefer the Can Am 800, 1000's are unproven and overkill in most cases.
The Can Am is also over $10,000 so that's out of alot of people price range for an atv in the first place. Yes it is a very good brand but thats way to much.I would say either Polaris or Artic cat about $4,000-$5,000 cheaper for a brand new 2012.I own a 2008 Polaris 750 and It's Been through hell literally flipped,crashed,stuck pretty much everything you could think of, and it's still goin strong.It's all about maintenance.If you keep your fluids changed on a regular basis they will keep going.
