Really, each culture has its own specific fatty foods. It's well known that Americans and other Westerners frequent fast-food establishments that serve foods packed with chemically-altered ingredients with high amounts of fattening oils in them. Traditional Thai cooking tends to use gratuitous amounts of peanut and peanut oil, which can be quite fattening. In African and Oceanic countries, coconut and coconut oil are used liberally in many dishes, and this is also very fattening. Each culture has adapted to these aspects of their cuisine, however -- for example, in Thailand, until Western influence became prevalent, a more robust body figure was considered attractive, so peanuts were alright for generous consumption. Really, when it comes down to it, it's just a matter of opinion what the fattiest food in the world is. Personally, I'm a sucker for eggs benedict. That Hollandaise sauce -- wow.
