I went to www.autozone.com and used their web site to look up the firing order of a windstar from 1995 (3.0l & 3.8l) to a 1998 windstar. And the firing order was the same for both motors and all years. The order is: 1-4-2-5-3-6
The firing order is: 1-4-2-5-3-6
It is 1,4,2,5,3,6
1-4-2-5-3-6 is the firing order for a 98 3.8

The firing order for this van should be 1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8, unless the cam has been improperly installed. to check the O on the crankshaft cam sprocket sould be inline with the dot on the cam sprocket.
