I am not an expert, but I don't think Nissan made a v-8 in 1987. Just in case it's a typo and you meant v-6, this is the firing order (no joke!) 1-2-3-4-5-6. You do not have a V8, it will be the 4cyl that has 8 spark plugs 4 for the intake side and 4 for the exhaust side. If you have the Z2.2 or Z2.4 engine:(4cyl. w/2 spark plugs per cyl.) STARTING FROM TOP AND GOING COUNTER CLOCKWISE: 2 Int.
http://autorepair.about.com/od/enginefiringorders1/ Specifically, for the 1987 Nissan Sentra: http://autorepair.about.com/library/firing_orders/bl-nissan-firing-87.htm The firing order is 1-3-4-2
The firing order for 1987 Nissan Maxima 3.0L DOHC is 1-6-2-4-3-5. It is the same for several years surround the 1987 model and is in a counterclockwise direction.
If it is a four cylinder it will be: 1 3 4 2
Click the link and choose the correct engine.
If it is either the Z2.2 or Z.24 (2 spark plugs per cyl): STARTING FROM TOP AND GOING COUNTER CLOCKWISE: 2 Int.
v8 should be 18436572
what is the firing order for a 1987 mercury cougar v8

The firing order for a 1987 Honda Civic follows the same order as newer models. The firing order is 1, 3, 4, 2.
V-8? If so it would be 1 8 4 3 6 5 7 2
