If the engine is original then it will have XXX printed on the block under the lower intake on the block itself or you can look the numbers up. If it is the original motor then the firing order for 86 - 95 5.0 Liter is 1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8. This is good, it means that you have roller tappets. Which means less friction, your computer can handle about any street cam so feel free to experiment. The E Cam works the best for good milage and great power pick up after 6000 rpm. Previous to 86 the firing order was 1-5-4-2-6-3-7-8. Nutshell, flat tappets, not so good but ok.
