in 1990 GM used coil springs in every car and truck produced with few exceptions.
The spec differs for model, trim package, suspension package, GVW rating and so on.
the spring height is 1.25 in. shorter but the spring rate is different and the leaf springs are also different.
The coils are bolted to the ignition control module, there is no coil wire as such.
No. 2005 is link and coil. 1990 is leaf spring.
There are 4 struts, They are not shocks.. They are called "coil over's". Meaning coil spring over strut. You will need a coil spring compressor to replace them yourself. Rent one at autozone.
No, Chevy converted to a coil spring suspension for their GMT-900 trucks. (07 - 10)
is helical coil and coil spring are the same
coil spring lifters
No, the broken coil spring affects the vehicle's ride height. The front coil springs should be replaced on both sides to ensure the front height is even. Check with your local dealership to see if there is a recall for broken front coil springs for your vehicle - have your VIN number available.
**** BE CAREFUL DOING THIS YOURSELF ***** **** DO NOT ATTEMPT WITHOUT A COIL SPRINNG COMPRESSOR **** You DO NOT want to see what happens when you pry the coil spring out of there with a crow bar. Like those teeth and that pretty face? Dont do it.... The coil spring may decompress spring out and hit you in the head. It would not be pretty. Please take it to a shop and have them do it or worst ccase, buy the Ford spring compressor. It WILL be much cheaper than the medical bills or funeral expenses.
They are both coil springs, a lowering spring is shorter and usually has a thicker coil stock or more coils. Also with lowering spring you are set to one high as with coilover you can change your height whenever you want. also with lowering spring you have to buy new struts where the coilover usually come pre assembled with the struts.
hey are located inside the distributor and function as the trigger for the ignition system to produce spark. The pickup coil monitors the rotation
I've got a better question, why is this question in the Chevy venture forum ?
