to both answer and evade your question at the same time is to say that any radio
equipment you can buy and legally operate without a license will be built in such a
way as to have its operating frequency limited to the legally permitted band.
Plus ... here's a little-known fact that most owners of such equipment never suspect ...
those frequencies are clearly identified and plainly written right out in the open, in
the instruction manual that comes with the equipment !
If you're unlicensed, then it's never legal to transmit with equipment that you've built
on your own.
