DNA polymerases are the enzymes responsible for joining DNA nucleotides together.

In Prokaryotes - DNA Pol III is the enzyme which adds nucleotides to the new strand during DNA replication. DNA Pol I is responsible for replacing the primers with DNA nucleotides.
