Species is the second part of a binomial name, that is a group of living things that are so closely related, that they can breed with one another and produce offspring that can breed as well. You must include the genus and species when writing a binomial nomenclature. For example, you would write a humans like this: "Homo sapien" or you would write Homo sapien underlined. Homo is the genus and sapien is the species.
