No, It will cost you $$$ to swap that it. The b16 is from Honda. You can go 4age 20v Blacktop, 4agze, 4age Slivertop, 4efte, 3sgte, 2zzge, or 1zzfe with supercharger. Those all depends where you live, emission wise.

hey don't waste your money on this sorta thing it will cost you more than you think your best bet is to put your money into a hole new engine say the 4AGZE which has a supercharger or a 20v blacktop or silvertop. i have a 4 AF myself and have thought about doing the same thing but have though otherwise. hope it all goes well

Yes, Used in MR2 in North America only
3e-e, 5efe, 5efhe, 4efte, 3ete, will all bolt up and be the cheapest. a 4age, 4agze, or 3sgte will fit with some frame modifications. basically you can put in any motor that will fit in the engine bay if you got enough cash.
Two engines came from the factory for an 88 MR2. The 4AGE is the normally aspirated version of the engine. The 4AGZE is the supercharged version. Some people have installed the 4AGTE - a turbocharged version of the 4AG see www.4AGTE.com. A good reference on the 4AG series engines is available at www.club4ag.com. Others have gone as far as to modify the engine mounts and remove a piece of the firewall between the engine compartment and rear trunk to install the 3SGTE from the second generation MR2. There are companies that offer kits and specialize in this conversion. V6's have been fitted into MR2's using Toyota's 1MZ-FE and 3VZ-FE engines. A good writeup can be found at www.mr2mk1club.com/V6MR2.html And not for the faint of heart, a few have taken on the extreme challenge of shoe-horning a V8 into their MR2's. Bill Strong is on his second build of his "Toystar" an 1986 MR2 with a V8 Northstar engine from a Cadillac, see www.v8mr2.com
Keep in mind that the supercharger is driven off of the pulley clutch. Check the specs for the sizing of the N/A vs. S/C. Many companies offer an oversized pulley for a S/C if you want to change your boost range and shift it a little higher in the RPMS. I've had luck with the NST pulleys and it comes with a new kit for all of your pulleys. Check it out if you don't mind going with non-oem parts.
