There are three main holy places in Islam.
1. Makkah, Saudi Arabia
2. Madinah, Saudi Arabia
3. Al'Quds (Jerusalem), Palestine
All three are holy, though Makkah maybe considered the holiest due to it being the first place where a house of God was built on earth, as mentioned in the Qur'an. Also the Prophet, peace be upon him, said prayer in Makkah (not only the Masjid) is worth 100 000 times more than praying elsewhere. Whereas, Madinah the prayer is 1000 more in the Prophet's Masjid; and the Masjid in Al'Quds, aka Masjid Al'Aqsa, is only 500.
Islam has three holy sites two of which are in Saudi Arabia, and one in Jerusalem. The most important to Muslims is Makkah (Mecca) which is in Saudi Arabia, the second is Masjid An Nabawi where the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is buried in Madinah (Medina). The final holy place for Muslims is Masjid Al Aqsa in Jerusalem. The mosque itself forms part of the Al Haram Ash Sharif along with the Dome of the Rock, a site also know as the Temple Mount which is holy to Judaism too. Muslims believe that the Prophet Muhammed (PBUH) was transported from the Sacred Mosque in Makkah (Mecca) to Al Aqsa in something called The Night Journey.
Islam sees the entire world as a holy place in which worship can occur (with the exception of certain indoor spaces like bathrooms which are not clean or dry). However, there are certain places of additional holiness to which Muslims go to amplify the strength of their prayers or to feel closer to God .
The three biggest holy places are:
The Kaaba; in Mecca, Saudi Arabia is considered to be the holiest site in Islam.
Kaaba in Mecca (or Makkah) in Saudi Arabia
The Holy Mosque, in mecca, saudi arabia. The Kabah in the holy mosque-that muslims pray towards, is the house built by Prophet Abraham and his son.
Ka'abah-the House of Almighty Allah.

If by the Sacred Mosque you mean the Great Mosque in Mecca, yes it is.
The holiest city for the Muslims is Makka (Mecca) situated in Saudi Arabia.
The holiest city for the Muslims is Makkah(Mecca),S.Arabia
Mecca (or Makkah) is forbidden for non Muslims to visit or stay because it is the Muslims most sacred and most holiest city. It is the same way Vatican is forbidden for Muslims to stay in.
Maaka is the best place on the earth for Muslims.
The third holiest Islamic city
The major place in Suadi Arabia is Mecca. Mecca is regarded as the Holiest city in the Religion of Islam. The Kaaba is located in Mecca and in ramadan muslims go there for Hajj.
Al-Quds (or Jerusalem) in the Palestinian Territory
Muslims pray facing the holiest of cities in Islam--Mecca, Saudi Arabia.
Unlike Judaism (Jerusalem) or Islam (Mecca), there is no "holiest place of worship for Christians."
Jerusalem is sacred to Jews, Christians and Muslims. Jews: It was the site of the Temple, the holiest place on earth and the capital of Israel as established by King David, regarded as Israel's greatest king. Christians: It was where Christ held the Last Supper, was crucified and rose victorious from the dead. Muslims: It was where the prophet, Mohammad, ascended into heaven for one night in order to meet with previous proophets.
