i have a 90 lumina 3.1 i was told you cant adjust the idle, but i fyoure hvaing idle problems like i was try replacing the idle air control motor.
Try cleaning it and the throttle plate. Go to bgfindashop.com and find a local repair shop that uses BG Products. The air induction cleaning will normally take care of those problems.
idler control unit
its on the throttle body just above the throttle position sensor (t.p.s)
It is very possible that the throttle plate is dirty and causing the throttle to hang up.
Could be the Throttle Positioning Sensor or the Idle Air Control Valve
Don't mess with that adjustment. The idle speed is electronically controlled.
The idle is not adjustable, it is computer controlled, which means the idle is not the problem. Look for a check engine light.
Is this a 3.1 liter engine? tipicaly by the throttle body area. idle sensor or idle air controll valve?
u dont set the idle the ecm does the setting througt the air idle conrtol. If it wont idle u need to replace the aic motor on the th0rottle body!
Idle speed control or Idle air control.
If it has EFI (Electronic Fuel Injection) there is no idle speed adjustment. The idle speed is adjusted electronically.
Hot at idle in drive, 20 to 30 psi.
the thermostat will make both fans become idle if it is not opening. this happened to me on my 95 3.1 lumina
