Good question. Labor rate is dollars per hour by a mechanic. It can be $30 to $100 an hour at different repair shops. The Mfgs provide service shops the time it should take a mechanic to replace parts so one shop may charge $90 and another $300 for the same 3 hour repair job. Plus the parts costs can vary considerably from actual cost to list prices. In this case you can take bids from several shops because you know what you want done. Most times the shop mechs have to spend some expensive time to find the problem. The repair may be simple or prolonged. lol
Frankly, This is the mechanic covering himself.on a vintage car such as this, there are many different variables that can occur. I'll bet he is just taking a few snapped bolts and stuck bushings into account. if it takes him less time, he will probably credit you the labor. but in short, this is what i would give you as an estimate. Around $75 in parts and $100-150 in labor all varies
probably .1 .2 ( 10 to 20 min.)
At the dealer.... when you add the other suspension parts they find that are shot... $1100.... plus tax. And btw, that is PARTS and LABOR.
The Impala has two bushings. One vertical which is the outer bushings, and the second one which is the horizontal (inner) bushing. Best thing to do is buy the bushings at rock auto. Vertical is like $18 and Horizontal is about $16. These bushings need to be pressed into the control arm so u have to take it to a machine shop...its probably charge 1 hour labor rate for both sides. U need a special tool to press out the old ones and insert the new ones. Removing the control arm is necessary.
How much does it cost to replace the upper and lower control arm bushings on a 1998 Chevrolet S-10? Upper control arm bushings are quoted at about 1.9 hours fro each side. However, if both are done then 3.5 hours total. Lower control arm bushings are 1.9 hours for one side and 3.4 hours for both sides. Just apply your shop's labor rate to the above hours. Note: Not all mechanics use the same book to estimate time for reapirs. This data is provided by Alldata. Mitchell Brothers could be different, as could the other services. Note 2: Upper control arm bushings are far easier to replace than lower control arm bushings because they are far more readily accessibly.
At the deal it'll cost about $650 for new module and labor to install and program it.
Write a longer question. We need to know what kind of car. I'm in Reno NV and they replaced mine (Ford Taurus) with a rebuilt transmission. It cost me $3,000 but that includes labor.
repost this question .. which part did you buy? what are the labor costs for replacing a fuel pump on a 94 gmc jimmy
Your problem is the rear control arm bushings. This is a common problem with all 97-03 Pathfinders. There are 2 control arms per side in the rear. They all wear, however the lower control arm, which is right along the outer edges of the vehicle is the most prevalent problem. I'll bet you've also started to notice alot of side to side rear sway at highway speeds. These bushings get soft and worn and this leaves room for the metal components to move side to side or back to front as in your case. If you're a DIY'er, you can either replace the bushings for about $40 total in parts and 3 hours or so of labor, mostly removing the old bushings, or you can replace the whole control arm for about $100 per side and less than an hour of labor. If you bring it in, be prepared to shell out anywhere from $400 - $800 depending on where you live.
The labor cost for replacing the 350 engine is around $230.
