Most people think its the Sahara Desert.... but its not. The Sahara desert is the largest HOT desert. The Largest desert is Antartica. A desert is a dry, arid place. It doesnt mean it has to be hot. Most people don't think of Antartica as a desert.... but it is. It's the Largest.
The largest (nonpolar) desert in the world is the Sahara, in north Africa, which spans an area measured at roughly 3.5 million square miles.

The United States' contiguous 48 states could easily fit in the desert.

It spans more than 3,000 miles across Africa, stretching from the Atlantic Ocean to the Red Sea. It is bordered by the Mediterranean Sea on the north and it spreads all the way down to central Africa, some 1,200 miles south.
the largest desert is the Sahara Desert
The Caspain sea is the largest lake. ( Even thought it is called a sea its a lake. The reason is because its so big.

The Antarctic Desert is, by far, the largest desert in the world. It is followed by the Sahara in second place. However, the Sahara is the largest hot desert.
