∙ 7y agoIn the UK, pouring lemon juice and sugar on pancakes is popular on Shrove Tuesday (or pancake day), which is a day in February or March preceding Ash Wednesday (the first day of Lent), I believe that pouring maple syrup or honey is popular in America and Canada. I prefer lemon juice and a sprinkling of sugar on Shrove Tuesday, which is when pancakes are traditionally cooked in the UK.
