The original answer is incorrect. The low oil level sensor is located where the original answer states. The oil pressure sending unit is a separate part. The sending unit is located on the left rear top of the engine, behind the intake manifold mounted into the top of the block.

The 2000 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 4 x 4 camshaft sensor can be found on the back of the engine head. The camshaft sensor will be labeled as such.

The most likely answer is the oil pressure control switch (aka oil pressure sending unit). costs around 4 dollars and 5 minutes to replace. It's right behind the distributor cap. Bad bearings , a whole in the block , or a bad sending unit . Which one sounds most likely ?
It does not have 1. It is all computer controlled.
