one sensor is located after the catalytic converter on the exhaust pipe just about mid vehicle. I believe there is a second one but not sure of its location yet. For the 5.4l, there are 4 O2 sensors. All are the same model. Two in front of the cat just past the manifold - to - Y-pipe connection and then just past the cats. For the 4.6L, there is also 4 02 sensors. 2 before cat. and 2 behind cat. around $50.00 each at auto zone.
where is the oxygen sensor location on a 1998 explorer bank 2 sensor
where is speed sensor location 98 ford expedition 4.6 engine nocruise control
location of the O2 sensor heater on a 1998 GMC 5.7
Where are the Bank 1 Sensor 1 oxygen sensor on a 1998 ford explorer?
1/1 is the o2 sensor on the engine size of the catalytic converter.
You can find it in the exhaust manifold. There is only one sensor over there. Sometimes the sensor is called oxygen sensor because on some Camry models at the same location the oxygen sensor is installed. Most of camries have oxygen sensor.
Bank #1 is the passenger side of the engine , and sensor # 2 is in the exhaust after the catalytic converter ( downstream )
On a 1998 Ford F-150 or Ford Expedition , 5.4 Bank 2 is the drivers side of the engine Sensor 1 would be close to the engine BEFORE the exhaust enters the catalytic converter
www.autozone.com has a component locator that you can use. Fill in the information about your vehicle, go to the component locator and click on Oxygen Sensor. I have a 1997 Suburban and it identified the location of each of 4 sensors.
I believe there are 2 oxygen sensors that are used for air / fuel ratio and 2 oxygen sensors that are downstream from the catalytic converters and are called catalyst monitors
On my 1998 Ford Expedition XLT , There are 4 Oxygen sensors. 1 each in front of the Cats. and 1 each behing the cat. for a total of 4 Oxygen Sensors.
They are screewed into the exhaust pipes--SYSTEM. I belive there is 3 of them in exhaust system. There is none after the muffler.
