A goiter signals that there is something wrong with your thyroid gland. Goiters sometimes develop because you lack iodine in your diet. If you are not getting enough thyroid hormone, over a long period of time you should notice weight gain, fatique, sluggish mental capability/focus, heavy periods, constipation, hair falling out (the part widening) and usually the outer one-third of the eye brows will disappear and when it is very advanced, you will have Heart disease and a condition that makes your eyes look Asian (myxedema).
