100-150 meters
Improving answer: Just for the record, I've been to a couple of 200 yard "rimfire only" rifle matches where standard-velocity .22 LR rounds were used to get five-inch groups at 200 yards. Those are 10 shot groups, too! I have heard of people shooting football sized and 2-liter Coke bottle sized targets at 300 yards, but naturally they had to aim several feet above the target to allow for bullet drop. But most people with average field-grade guns should consider a .22LR round good for about 100 yards.
Effective range- 50 yards. Maximum- 1 mile
Are you asking about the maximum effective range or the maximum range that a 22 short projectile can travel?
25m
1.5 miles. Not the effective range, but total range.
In a rifle, about 150 yards.
What is the maximum effective range of the M16A2 and M9?
Maximum effective range at a point target: 550 metres Maximum effective range at an area target: 800 metres Maximum range: 3600 metres
50 meters. The maximum range is about 960 meters, but the maximum EFFECTIVE range is 50 meters.
The maximum effective range of a point target on the M249 is 800 meters. The maximum effective range of an area target is 1000 meters. The maximum range is about 3600 meters.
The maximum effective range of a .45 caliber bullet is approximately 120 meters.
the M16A3 has a maximum effective range of 550 meters for a target and 800 meters for area, the M14A1 has a maximum effective range of 360 meters and 500 meters respectively.
Maximum effective range of an M4 is 500 meters at a point target, and 800 metres at an area target.
