OD stands for Over Drive. There is a button the left side of the A/T shifter, pressit to get the over drive in. If over drive is off, the car will consume more gas staying in 3rd gear all the time.
"Over Drive Off"
the over drive is off. On some cars, it stays on automatically and when you press a button , it will turn it off light up that light.

The od light means that the over-drive is off. Pushing the little button on the shifter selector will turn it on (when the dummy light is not on) and off (when the dummy light is lit).
over-drive... take it its an auto On the gear selector handle, there is a button. Pushing that button will turn the Over drive off (light is on) or turn it on (light is off). This allows it to leave 3rd gear, and will put less wear on the engine and transmission at a speed of about 45 or higher.
