The blue bars represent the two branches of the Chicago River, The three white bars represent the three sections of the City: North Side, West Side and South Side. The Stars represent important events in Chicago's history, but I do not know what each of them stands for. My guess is: Ft. Dearborn MASSACRE,THE CHICAGO FIRE 1871,THE COLUMBIAN EXPOSITION OF 1933 AND THE CENTURY OF PROGRESS EXPOSITION OF 1943. One star is the Fort Dearborn Massacre, 2nd in the Great Fire of 1871, 3rd. Is the World's Columbian Exposition of 1893, 4th is the Century of Progress of 1933.
