The katana belonging to Qin Shi Huang was found in his tomb, which is still being uncovered along with thousands of teracotta soldiers. A katana is also known as a "samurai sword" and can take years to make bacouse it is made with literally thousanads of layers of steel.
I thought Qin Shi Huang (The first emperor of China) was still buried, and that they had not excavated the mausoleum yet.
The Japanese Katana was a far later sword. In fact in Japan prior to 987AD swords were short and of the the chokutō type. Japan imported it's Sword making from China.
Qin Shi Huang's tomb has not been excavated and radar analysis and atmospheric analysis survey data is not available to the public as yet. What is known is that the interior atmosphere is filled with Mercury which tends to tally with the extant descriptions given in various texts written around 100 years after his death.
Probably the worlds most valuable sword at present is the Jeweled Sword of the British Monarchy, part of the Crown Jewels it will never be sold. The most expensive sword sold was an Ancient Arab Sword once owned by Napoleon, this fetched 6.4 million US Dollars when it was sold.
