it depends on who the wolf is. Example: alpha, beta, omega. if you mean the middle of the wolf pack, i call it the center wolf, like if they are arranged in a circle. if this does not answer your question, try to re-word it.
I like to call a middle-ranking wolf...'subordinate.' The subordinates, or subs for short, consist of deltas, mothers, hunters, warriors, medics, etc. Basically they're just called subordinates.
