RAR is the most widespread format because it has so much compression that a 1-day download would take 2 hours. I am just kidding :P RAR is more widespread than Zip because it has much more compression. Use WinZip as a compression program, it is the most widespread. OR, use WinRAR.

What is internet caches?

Quote from the related link: "Often referred to as the cache, the Temporary internet Files folder contains a kind of travel record of the items you have seen, heard, or downloaded from the Web, including images, sounds, Web pages, even cookies. Typically these items are stored in the Temporary Internet Files folder. Storing these files in your cache can make browsing the Web faster because it usually takes your computer less time to display a Web page when it can call up some of the page's elements or even the entire page from your local Temporary Internet Files folder."

What is different between a file and a folder?

A folder holds a set of files ----- in IT a file (like a .doc document) holds user data, while a folder is a place where a number of files can be grouped for convenience (like 'my documents'). Folders can also hold other folders making the whole storage structure a tree. BY JOHN KARL VIDALLO BAUTISTA

Can you save your music from a CD to your music folder?

The music is stored on a CD as AIFF audio files. If a CD icon appears you can usually double click it and drag the files into your Music folder. AIFF files are relatively large and so are often converted to the MP3 format to save space. A typical song will be around 20MB (AIFF) which will be reduced to around 4MB (MP3). Free software, such as iTunes or numerous others, will recognise the CD and convert the music to MP3s, or whatever format you prefer, and help manage the Music folder.

How do you uninstall LimeWire?

You do first need to use the add/remove programs to do a clean unistall - this will remove all the original files, and save you making a mess of things tinkering with any system files. After that, manually delete the Limewire folder in the "program files" directory. This was only left after the uninstall process as it will still contain incomplete downloads. An install most often leave a program's root folder if data/files have been added after the original install process...nothing to worry about there :) http://www.freeuninstalltool.com/

How do you compress a 700MB video to 300MB?

To reduce a 700MB video to 300MB, I would re-encode it with a more effecient video codec - H.265/HEVC, or AV1, VP9. These codecs can shrink file size by 50%. To compress furher, you can downscale the resolution, from 4K to 1080p/720p, lower the bitrate, etc. The program I often use is VideoProc for it can compress video files with the least quality loss.

How do file compression programs work?

File compression programs make files smaller or combines files into one for smaller storage space. These programs take up less room in your computer memory or allow them to be put on devices such as zip drives.

Is there a difference between a file and a folder?

If a file is analogous to an apple, then a folder is analogous to a box of apples. It can contain apples, or even other boxes of apples.Answer:All the data on your hard drive consists of files and folders. The basic difference between the two is that files store data, while folders store files and other folders. The folders, often referred to as directories, are used to organize files on your computer. The folders themselves take up virtually no space on the hard drive. Files, on the other hand, can range from a few bytes to several gigabytes. They can be documents, programs, libraries, and other compilations of data.
